The things POOP messes up....
I don't know if there's another family that has had as much poop about poop as we have.
Since we live in the "kuntrie" and are not on a public septic system we had to have our septic tank evaluated for our homestudy. This is as crappy as it sounds. First we had to pay an "evaluation" fee to the county. Then they came out and said they couldn't find the property lines and could we mark them? So we go about trying to mark them as best we can. The county comes back out and says, "Looks like your septic system isn't in code. Code states that your septic tank and fill lines have to be at least 5 feet off your property line." So we're thinking perhaps we put the lines in the wrong place?? If she would just tell us where they needed to be we could save a lot of time (and money as it turns out). No good. So we have to hire a company to come survey our property and stake the lines, goodbye $675 smackers. That takes a while because evidently they don't work in the rain. Eventually they come out and place all their stakes and draw their pretty picture and we should be good to go. Only they've labeled our WELL as our SEPTIC SYSTEM. YUMMY. I thought the water tasted off....
I call the county and they come back out and after at least an hour of looking at the property lines and comparing to the plat and using a pooper tool to locate the fill lines, the county official finally agreed that the fill lines were on our property, but not 5' off the property line. Thank goodness I had "befriended" her because she agreed to sign off on it ONLY because it was for an adoption. If we were trying to sell the house she wouldn't have done it. At least we can get off the subject of the crapper now!
